Request to participate in Technology Commercialization survey

Technology Commercialization at Wayne State is requesting faculty and staff participation in a survey to better understand how technology commercialization is perceived and utilized throughout the university, and to improve services to the campus community.

The survey contains 50 questions and covers four key areas supported by the Technology Commercialization office:

  • General Knowledge & Perception: Q3-15
  • Engagement & Needs: Q16-22
  • Education/Outreach: Q23-28
  • Innovation Programs: Q29-49

*Please note that some questions may not be applicable and will be automatically skipped based on responses. 

These surveys are conducted periodically to track effectiveness of Technology Commercialization's improvement and communication efforts, so if you have responded to past surveys, please do so again. 

To begin the survey, please visit (Technology Commercialization Outreach Survey 2016).  Once started, you will have the ability to pause and save your responses to complete the survey at a later time if necessary. The survey will close on December 23, 2016.

Technology Commercialization is responsible for the identification, protection, marketing and licensing of intellectual property, such as patents, unique biological or other materials, and certain copyrights, developed by WSU faculty and staff. They promote an entrepreneurial culture and support start-up ventures and regional economic development. Technology Commercialization also negotiates material transfer agreements and confidentiality agreements and reviews the intellectual property terms of sponsored research agreements.

*If you are new to WSU, please note that Technology Commercialization is often called Technology Transfer at some institutions.

The goal of Technology Commercialization is to comprehensively manage and aggressively pursue technology transfer activities to support both faculty and staff in translating innovative ideas from the university to the marketplace.
