Wayne State University's E2 Detroit conference Oct. 13 to inspire attendees on creating a business in a down economy
DETROITâWayne State University and TechTown, WSU's business incubator, will host the sixth annual E2 Detroit conference on Wednesday, Oct. 13. This event brings entrepreneurs together with business leaders, authors, investors and others for a program that both educates and inspires on how to create a business in a down economy.
Guest speakers will give attendees creative ideas to stretch the resources they have and develop ways to launch their businesses with little or no capital. E2 Detroit 2010, "The Lean Launch: Creating a Business in a Down Economy," will feature discussions such as "How to Market and Advertise in a Lean Launch," and "How to Launch Your Business 'On a Dime' Without Sacrificing Image, Quality or Opportunities," that will give attendees the tips and practical advice that every entrepreneur should know for today's economy.
Guest speakers include Lizabeth Ardisana, principal owner of ASG Renaissance, a technical and communication services firm; John Burtka, an entrepreneur who has launched three local wineries now known as Cherry Creek Cellars and Sleeping Bear Winery and plans to expand operations in Detroit; Wendy Kennedy, chief executive of her own startup, wendykennedy.com, business school professor and author of So what? who cares? why you?®; Josh Linkner, founder and chairman of ePrize, which develops and manages interactive promotions for 74 of the top 100 brands, author of Leaning Forward, musician and successful four-time entrepreneur; and Barry Moltz, an entrepreneur who has founded several startups, an angel investor group and an angel fund, and author of three books including, You Need to Be a Little Crazy: The Truth about Starting and Growing Your Business.
"Through E2 Detroit, Wayne State and TechTown are giving new life to the Michigan economy by inspiring idea generators to explore entrepreneurial opportunities," said Judy Johncox, associate vice president for Research and Technology Commercialization at Wayne State University.
